hi, I’m wondering if anyone knows if being ‘cured’ of UC via an ileostomy has any effect on PSC, apparently I’ve had PSC for many years but was only diagnosed in 2009, I have had no symptoms except terrible itching on my lower legs from time to time – the most recent 6-monthly blood test showed that liver function has not disimproved in the past year – I’m taking Usrofalk 250mg *3, calcium & vit D

as I m a lot healthier now without UC, ? could I expect my body to deal better with the PSC – my doc doesn’t seem to think so but I’d like to hear from some real people on the subject

? any thoughts
UC since 1990, not a lot of fun
Qualified as ileostomate May 2010, a much happier boy now
panproctocolectomy, abdomino perineal resection, perm ileostomy
my colon may not be, but my heart is in the right place !!

You might also post at the UC board; there a couple of posters there with psc experience.

Removing the colon does not remove PSC.
