I have a question for anyone that has went through biofeedback! I have been through a lot this past year. Finally, on June 2nd, I had a total colectomy to help me with my CI. However, problems after being discharged, rectum narrowed, abdomen full of blood, emergency surgery a week later. Got discharged again, and I continue to suffer from constipation. I had the defecography test before my surgery, which was fine, so the doctor does not know why my rectum narrowed earlier (was dilated at the 2nd surgery), and why now I continue to suffer from the inablity to pass gas and stool! I am starting to use enemas now! Nurse told me for now, to use a suppository every morning to try and retrain my body; however, I do think the suppositories are cutting it anymore. I never did have the anal manometry test before surgery, which I prob. should have had done. It is just like my bottom is trying to push against a brick wall trying to force that stool out, or if I can do it, I just get a small amount out or wait until I feel like I am going to explode (like the other day to let a little more out, but it is still incomplete), or I have just suffered from a little leakage from now and there. Also, I am just getting soo nauseous and suffering from excessive burpiness when I eat the wrong things; all because I still have problems using the bathroom; everything comes upwards.
Main question-has anyone really benefited from biofeedback, physical therapy?
I have suffered for sooo many years, and the question just keeps on popping in my head; am I going to have to go through another surgery and get a ileostomy. All I really want is a life; to feel like doing things!
