Curious, has anyone tried a seven day juice detox with an ileostomy? I was thinking about giving it a try. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks! :)

When I had my ileostomy, I drank quite a bit of apple juice for a while and my output was super high and super fast. I found out later that I was supposed to cut the juice with water, as the amount of sugar in the juice was what was causing the high output. So you need to be careful and perhaps check with your doc before you try a juice detox.

hi, my brother did an organised group 3 day juice detox last year & the must have equipment he had to bring with him was a lot of 'soothing' loo roll, he spent a lot of time in the loo, it went right thru him fast even though he has the full complement of intact & operational digestive plumbing - it would be a much quicker transit for us with the 'go faster' ailimentary tract - i guess it would be important too keep hydrated as always - the question i would have is where is the goodness of the juice absorbed in order that it can do its detoxing work - if it should happen in the colon then it may not be a runner

it would be worth a try maybe for a day to start with & see how you fare - fresh made juice from a proper juicer is well tasty !!

I have juiced before (with my juicer here at home), but that was back when I had my colon (although my colon was diseased and not working right anyway). I was just curious as to how bad the output is.. I'm pretty sure it will be a lot. Trying to decide if I should just juice in the mornings for breakfast or go all out and do the 7 day juice detox. Thanks for the comments! :)
