I was wondering what other people use to lubricate the inside of their colostomy appliance? I've only tried the Hollister Adapt deodorizing lubricant, but it is SO expensive compared to something like an over the counter vegetable glycrerin. Can I use plain glycerin? Is it effective and safe? Anyone else have suggestions?

Thank you!

its not necessary to use any of that, but i think that the oil would be bad, i think it would compromise your seal if it got under it.

I've been using the adapt stuff too that came with the box the hospital set me up with and I don't find it helps a lot. I just drink lots of water and hope it doesn't get too sticky. If it does I just kinda help it along. I didnt' find the adapt stuff particularly helpful. I find if I get up and walk a bit it all goes with the flow of gravity and sorts itself out.
