I normally have really thick output (almost too thick sometimes) but last night I made a tofu stir-fry and now I'm having problems. Woke up at 5:00 a.m. with a *full* bag (surprised nothing bad happened...wow!), emptied and it was all liquid. An hour later, had to empty another full bag. Took an Immodium and ate about 6 marshmallows. Had another half or so bag about an hour later, but things have been calm for the last few hours minus some gurgling in my guts once I ate a few things. (Tried a waffle, and when that went ok, I had some graham crackers and a banana). I'm taking on extra Powerade Zero this morning so I can replace what I'm losing.

I'm wondering if it's the tofu? This is the first I've had it since surgery so it's hard to say. My husband did have some stomach funk for about 12 hours over the weekend, so maybe it's that instead. If so, I hope the kids don't get it. Anyone else have trouble with tofu? (I know, everyone is different...but if it's a common problem maybe I won't try eating it again for awhile.)

I don't have any trouble with tofu, at least since surgery, I sometimes had trouble before. Sorry, sounds like a rough night, glad you're feeling better, and I hope the kids stay healthy.

Have you had the rest of the things in the stir fry w/no problems?

It's so hard to determine cause/effect sometimes.....

Yes, the rest of the stir fry was known safe items. I am feeling fine this evening, but my husband felt better within 12 hours or so, too when he got hit who knows. I'll give the tofu another whirl here in a week or two and see if I get a similar result. If I do, then I'll stay away from it and see if I can reintroduce it after my takedown. There are enough other protein sources out there that it's not a big deal if I can't eat it.

Done with the drugs. Step 1 (of 3) J-pouch surgery 3/22/11, Steps 2 & 3 TBD
