Water enemas for j pouch pre take dwn surgery

Has any one had to do water enemas for ur j pouch pre take down surgery??
I am supposed to do 50mg n work my way to 250mg. But I'm only on 50 still. N it's been over 3mnths since surgery. Does it matter if I dnt do it??
Diagnosed w/UC 4-7-09. pan colitis. No Meds worked,Been hospitalized 4xs n 5 mnths. Gastritis also. had proctocolectomy/with ileostomy on 5-26-11 Went well despite code blue! But dying has it's upside for the fact that I was at the gates of HEAVEN WITH THE LORD! Healing now. Ostomy is gonna take sum getting used to! Nxt surgery n Sept.Now I have Sciatica! Pain n the butt literally! God is Good!

I never had to do this. What is the reason for it?
DX UC - in 2005 when I was 37
Tried every drug-even Remicade-Tried diets-nothing worked
Step 1: J-pouch surgery (Laparoscopic restorative proctocolectomy w/ temporary diverting loop ileostomy) 6-25-10
Step 2: Take down surgery (Ileostomy reversal) 10/8/10
No more UC!!! Very happy with my results of this surgery!

I guess to exercise n stregth the muscles.
