Hi all. I've just found this site and it's fantastic. I've just had my second operation, construction of jpouch 12 days ago. I have had this very sore pain in my bum (I can only describe it as 'toothache in my ass') since my surgery. It feels as if it's from the area just inside my anus where the new pouch has been connected. It feels swollen too in that I can feel pressure when I sit. I'm hoping it's just that my bum is healing down there and that this pain is part of the normal healing process.

Did anybody have bum pain at this location after pouch construction? If so did it leave? I'm usually optimistic but my colitis has always shown me that being optimistic must have some degree of reality. I'm sure you all know what I mean.

I don't remember having pain there....had it just about everywhere else....maybe I did. It's normal since you are fresh from surgery....everything is still swollen inside of you. As long as it isn't severe pain....if that happens then you need to get checked out. Also if you start running a fever you need to get to a dr. too. But post op soreness and discomfort is definately normal. Feel better!

PS- jpouch.org is a great support site too!
