My two cents worth on your friend's quesitons.
I've finally found the perfect bag/adhesive set up for me and I easily get 5 days between changes. No Leaks
I empty the bag on average 4-6 times a day. No big deal....it takes be about 3 min. and I'm done.
The bag is only stinky when it's being emptied or taken off to change. When the open end is closed, it shouldn't ever stink. I do Hollister M9 order elminator each time I empty. If I don't, it can stink, sometimes worse that others.
I use a one piece with an adapt barrier ring. No snapping just a nice cozy donut around the stoma. So easy.
Lucky Charms ! Well now you've got me thinking of all kinds of silly things to put in there. On the advice of a fellow ostomite, I did try putting a couple of Altoid mints in the bag for odor control and it actually worked ! But since my insurance covers the M9, thats's what I'm using but I do carry the Altoids in my purse when I'm sure I'll be emptying my bag away from home.
Your post shows a healthy sense of humor which will be a huge factor in your recovery. Laugh ON !!
