My name is Jenn. I've had Crohn's for 15 years. I've had many numerous surgeries and have for the last three years had an ileostomy. I was having problems with my ileostomy and they decided surgery was the answer. As well as fixing the one problem they would remove my colon and rectum. I was upset but realize my colon was too damaged for any future hope. My surgery was on may 3rd. I felt fine afterwards. Having an epidural really helped. However, my stitches came out and now I'm having to have a nurse come in twice a day to pack my bottom. It's pretty painful and a pain in the butt(no pun attended). They say it could be months before it may heal up. So much for the summer.

Jen...sorry to hear about all your happenings the past couple days. I'm really sorry to hear about you and your boyfriend. I can't imagine going through this as a woman without a man standing by my side. And no, it's not because I'm male dependent, I've been with one and only one man for almost 19 years now, but the self image a woman has without an ileostomy is hard, let alone WITH an ileostomy. I simply hate mine, can't stand it, would give an arm to be rid of it. You sound like an itelligent person though, and I'm sure Mr. Perfect is out there somewheres! With that said, I too have a lot of gas problems with my bag, I use convetech, the 2 system pouch. I don't even have a clue as to how to change brands, they sent me home 2 months ago with this, and I feel like it's part of my "sentence".  So, I wish you luck with the hollister products, let me know if they work, maybe I'll figure out myself how to switch brands. I do hope your feeling a little better then a couple days ago, keep your chin up and your eyes open, Love will find it's way back into your life :-)   Take care!
