T Jane, place a call over to the surgeon's office and ask if the sutures are supposed to be working their way out. The reason I am telling you this is that I had a minor surgical procedure on my arm last year. There were 3 internal, dissolvable sutures and 5 external sutures. The doc removed the external sutures about
10 days after the procedure. Four weeks later, the incision site looked mostly good but had a couple lumps that would
open and ooze. Doc put me on antibiotics. Four weeks after that, these lumps got real fiery looking and I put warm soaks on them. They burst and out came all three internal sutures. Come to find out I am allergic to the coating on the sutures.
I hope all goes well.
