I'm quite sure I still have a mild case of SIBO. I blew a positive breath test when I still had my colon and took a course of Xifaxan, too, but that was more because we thought it might help my UC (it did not). I also have rosacea which is associated with SIBO, and funnily enough my dermatologist suggested I should ask my GI about
going on Xifaxan! However, it isn't getting worse, and I'm loathe to mess around with my GI tract any more if it isn't completely necessary, so I live with it.
I don't think that SIBO is necessarily a backwash issue, I think it can be, but it can also just be a consequence of dysbiosis.
All small intestines have kinks in them :)
