I wouldn't discount the possibility that what you have is a GI bug. When I had my ileo I had unremitting watery output (diarrhea) for days but I didn't have other symptoms, or even abdominal pain, so it didn't occur to me that it could be a stomach bug. I thought it was just a quirk of ileo life (granted this was like two months post-op for me so I had no clue!). It took a visit to my GI (where I was like "I don't understand why my output is so watery all of a sudden and I can't get it to thicken up") to figure out, duh, I had the stomach flu.
On the other hand, eating less or even just differently is going to make your output different, too, no matter what you have.
