Cowgirl,  you may find it helpful to read previous posts titled "total colectomy part 1, 2, 3, 4".  There are several of us that post regularly that are from all different stages of healing from surgery.  Hope everything turns out well for you.  I know all about the gas/belching problem, I have recently started to have that also.  I am 6 months out from surgery.

Hi all,
I hope everyone is recovering well. I wanted to know if anyone has an idea about getting information on the quality of care for a hospital. I have had two consultations with two different surgeons. They are from two different hospitals. I thought if I could get information about the quality of care for both hospitals it would make my decision easier.

Some hospitals have their stats online so you could check them out there.  Otherwise call the hospital and ask for the quality control department and ask for the their stats (especially surgeons complication rate and infection rate) Good luck!

Hugs,

Emma
