Sorry you're having a hard time. Hope they figure it out soon. I have not had surgery yet, so I have the "typical" plumbing in tact yet. Will eventually have some type of ostomy. But, have a sorta funny story for you anyway. Hope it makes you smile.
So, it's the day after I drank the yummy bowel prep stuff to get cleaned out. It always leaves me with lots of gas, and feeling pretty bad. I am curled up on my couch resting, and my cat decides to curl up with me, sort of behind my knees. He is a large cat, so his head ended up right next to my butt. We are just relaxing comfortably, he's basically asleep. Then, I fart. Not like a single, short, little one. This was like a machine gun kind of thing, lots of smaller ones strung together, and rather noisy. (tmi). Well, my cat is startled awake and is just sort of staring at my butt, not sure what to do. Suddenly, he looks as if he's going to attack or pounce on my behind. Before he could do that, I let out a second round. He took off running! He is not afraid of much at all, but I guess that was more than he could handle. Made me laugh.
Got one more weird story for you about poop. No j-pouch, but again, hope it makes you smile....I was at a friend's house. I have bowel incontinence and very little sensation, so often don't even know when I have had an accident. Anyway, myself and two friends are watching tv and talking. Then, I smell the distinct odor of poo. Great, how embarrassing. I have mentally checked out of the conversation and am now panicking. Do my friends smell it? Has it leaked thru my clothes? How do I casually grab my "crap kit" and get down the hall to the bathroom to change? If it has gone thru my clothes, will it be on the couch or will my friends see it as i exit the room? I finally work up the courage to just go for it, and grab my bag and head to the bathroom...no looking back. Close the door and check things out. Ok, nothing there!! ***?? Very confused. So, I wipe myself off, even though there's nothing there, and head back out to the living room. Glance at the couch before sitting down, and it's clean. Sit down and within seconds, I smell it again. I'm thinking well, maybe now I had an accident. Ready to go check again when the cat that was next to me gets up and jumps off the couch, leaving behind a cat turd. Maybe the cat needs depends too!
Not the funniest things ever, but sure were awkward and made me laugh a bit.
Hoping today is a brighter day!!
