Hello my fellow j-pouchers,
I just had my reversal surgery on Oct 7, so I'm about a month out from surgery. Things were going great at night for the first 3 1/2 weeks or so, however, for the last week, I have been waking up to a HUGE mess every single night. I'm so frustrated! For the first 3 1/2 weeks, I would wake up in the middle of the night with the urge to go to the bathroom. Now, I'm not waking up anymore at 3/4 am, instead at 6/7 am with a gross mess to clean :( - every night!!!
I don't have any issues during the day holding it in, or recognizing the urge to go and I'm not having any pain/increased urgency/etc that would indicate pouchitis, other than not waking up in the night to go.
I have been enjoying my newly connected j-pouch, except for this one issue. My husband and I have been sleeping in separate rooms since my surgery as well, and I would like for him to come back! I can't have him come back if this is going to continue to happen every night...
Any tips? Has this happened to you? If so, does it tend to fix itself on its own? Or is there anything I can try/do?
Thank you SO much in advance for your help!
