Does your ileo constantly poop? Mine just never stops to take a breath! I mean, it isn't diarrhea, but it is constant. The only time it seems to take a break is in the early morning, before breakfast. That is when I am able to change my appliance...but after that..whewie! It's a miracle I gain any weight, and I have gained some weight. Does the stomach just suck up the fat calories and paste them on your hips or what? Just wondering. idea

My ileo is on the exact same schedule. I can almost set my clock by it.

Mine's pretty constantly spewing stuff out. It's quiet when I first wake up and right before I go to bed. I usually do changes before bed.

Yes - my loop is constantly running. I can only do my appliance changes first thing when I wake up, before eating breakfast and definitely before having any coffee!

My loop is like that but my end would take a break and I could change much easier at different times of the day. The loop also has pure liquid output at times and that is more difficult to deal with. With the end I rarely had to change abruptly, so while I had the opportunity to change more often, I didn't have to because I got a great seal. With my loop, I would be scared to swap pouches because of how active it is. I would change pouches all the time with my end. I don't really switch with the loop, I have to do full changes every 24 hours... I also empty the loop way more, often it's a bunch of liquid inside the pouch.

I have a loop and it's quieter than I thought it would be. Once I wake up even after I eat breakfast it is quiet for a few hours. Most days I dont empty until 1 or 2 pm. After some playing around I think it might be because of the probiotics I take first thing before breakfast. Wasn't much info about taking them when they don't reach a colon but I have found they keep me from having any gas too.

Don't they do loop ileos when people anticipate having a j-pouch? I thought end ileos were permanent and loops for j-pouchers.

Mine takes a while to settle down in the morning, depending on what I eat. By 9 or 10 or so it usually stops until mid afternoon. It's pretty much the same rhythm I had before surgery.... but better digestion and not diarrhea.

I try to change around 10, but that doesn't always work w/my schedule. I do find that on weekends I'm OK eating breakfast and then changing around noon or 1.

Fairly constant through the day.
I do not eat after 8pm and that helps during the night.
