I don't know where the hell to begin on this three year long nightmare, but one thing is certain, my medical professionals are too terrified to touch me with a surgical barge pole.
I was hit by a car when I was 11, lost half my pelvis, and everything on the right. Right hip, right leg, and right buttock, which led to me being given a loop colostomy.
Everything was fine and dandy for 20/21 years, and then it wasn't fine. I started feeling like I needed to pass feces out of my rectum, but nothing came out, and after one doctor said there was no blockage, I turned out to have mucus balls that, combined, spanned almost a foot in length.
They cleaned that out, but it came back, and the doctor said she "Wasn't willing to put me under again just to deal with something so small." And so I was left to figure out how to remove this ever forming mucus plug.
I have no muscle or pressure in my rectum, so nothing can be withheld, such as water or glycerin suppositories, so I'm having to get creative with cotton buds and Instilligel. My new specialist nurse gave me an irrigation thing, but that stimulates the bowel into working, and I'm now having to fish out solid mucus twice a day.
I feel like I need a BM *all the time*. It doesn't stop ever. My sleep is little, I can hardly eat, and forget about going out of the house, where I've been for three months straight.
This has been going on now for three years, and aside from that first time, I'm the one who has been doing all the treatment. It's painful, makes me incredibly sore and uncomfortable, and I'm now firmly at the end of my rope.
If anybody has any advice, then please respond.
Thank you all in advance,
