So i had colostomy done on sept.20th. All is well. Until Saturday Evening when this burning pain started on either side of my stoma and incision. I cant bend over without it burning. It burns when im standing or move too. Im having hard stool at times and peanut butter consistency other times.
I eat normally. I use prune juice every day. Some days i need stool softeners too. I cannot get a consistency like the nurse wants every day which is peanut butter. Some days it can be loose too. Ugh.
I dont know how it could be a blockage when i have stool moving out unless its moving around the blockage. Would gas feel like this? Its burning like fire at times. Yet it was gone all night now its back. Any insight?

If your contents are on the thicker side, that may be causing your burning. I was told by my Ostomy Nurse that most pain is on the surrounding skin, not on the stoma, but I do wonder, because the very rare times when I do pass thicker output because of taking too much Imodium, I find my stoma really itching and the skin burning, especially when I move. Don't know if that is the cause of your burning, but it is a possibility?
