I just wanted to share that I had the barium test of my J pouch today in preparation for my take-down surgery a week+ from now. I was nervous, having heard of the things that could go wrong. Also, the surgeon did a digital test last week and it hurt briefly but like he&&!
There were several weird sensations involved with this, and a little discomfort, but no pain, and it was pretty quick. After it was over, I asked the technician to show me the pictures, which were quite interesting.
The oddest thing for me was that when I went to get dressed afterward, my bag was full of the barium! lol
I had my pre-op wih my PCP yesterday, and this today; next I have a chest x ray and then a CT scan for the oncologist. And a one month post-chemo appointment with him. Then take-down time! I am feeling very optimistic and I wanted to share that.
