Horrible pancake issues no matter how much lubricant I put in. Between the output gathering & staying stuck in a big round blob around my stoma in my 2pc, to me always having to fix and help things along, it's exhausting and so frustrating. My surgery in June also had partial resection from Crohn's, developed ileus, long recovery road. Would love to have this pancake issue go away. Does anyone put little pieces rolled up tissue or something to stop it from sticking to my stoma area? Please help and thank you!

Use the 'search' link and type 'pancaking'. There are scores of threads on this problem going back a long time. A problem that never seems to get fixed in any truly effective way. The manufacturers should be all over it, but when you think that it is in their interest for patients to go through more product, it's hardly on their list of priorities.
It's common knowledge that there are plenty of 'gel-type' virtually non-stick surface materials around that would practically eliminate so-called pancaking issues. As long as it doesn't drive up the prices. Patenting may be the problem for the main suppliers.
Meanwhile the poor ****patients have to put up with it. None of the remedies on health forums seem to work for most.
Give your pouch a lot of attention just after a heavy meal and esp. at bedtimes, which ideally should be at least 4-5 hours after your last meal.

I have had the pancake event several times. Then I watched what I ate that would cause it, I hope this little bit of info helps you. I found potatoes cause it, such as baked & potato salad they are hard to go through and will pancake also causing a breach of the bag.
Any real solid food, you have to keep an eye on the output to catch it so you can break it up & save the bag connection. Watch out for asparagus, don't eat it if it is stringy, mainly the cut ends, cut it up to the most tender part. The stringy part does't go through right & will jam the stoma up. I hope some of this helped.
