I am scheduled to undergo surgery to receive a transverse colon, which was removed 18 months ago when I recieved my ileostomy bag.  Now I'm getting a ileostomy reversal plus receive a transverse colon.  Anyway recommendation or information on what or how I will feel and best way to deal with this?  Anyway undergo anything similar?

I am confused?  Did you say that you had only your transverse colon removed and have had a temp ileo and now are awaiting to have a transplanted transverse colon?  I haven't heard of this procedure.

As far as I'm aware, they've never transplanted a large colon, only the small intestine?
I have had an ileostomy for 30 years now due to UC.
I'm not a complete idiot - some parts of me are missing!

i've heard that they cant do any organ transplant of the digestive system - stomach, small intestine or colon. they have tried, but only one people who elected for the experimental surgery cos they were gonna die anyway. they all died in like a day. dont want to be the harbinger of ill tidings, but hey, that is what i heard. perhaps you know something we dont????
