I know this isn't completely related to ostomies, but I thought maybe someone here could help me.  I have Crohn's Disease, and a month ago I had a gastrostomy tube placed because I can't keep my weight up on my own.  I have been having a problem with granulation tissue growing around the site, and I was wondering if anyone had some tricks to help get rid of the tissue, and make it stop coming back.  Any input would be greatly appreciated!  Take care.

I've heard of it being burnt off by stoma nurses with silver nitrate sticks but I don't think there's a way to keep it from coming back :(
I have had an ileostomy for 30 years now due to UC.
I'm not a complete idiot - some parts of me are missing!

The silver nitrate works well. The last post describes it as being burned off. That is the terminology but there is no burning. It is completely painless.
