I am a little over two months post op from my reversal and my birthday is coming up on sunday, is it okay if I celebrate with a drink?  I've been through hell this summer and now that I am feeling better I would like to enjoy a nice refreshing beer!!!

Dude, let it fly. I drank beers 5 weeks after my operation.I also will eat everything in sight including the stuff the docs said would plug me up. No problem, you are alive , so live like it.

Go for it Will - I drink a can of soft drink every day - it gives me some gas but that's not a problem - rather than than give up the drink lol

I'm an Aussie and I don't drink beer - yes, I know I'm strange! But I know countless number of ostomates who do indulge in a beer or two and apart from the extra gas they experience no problems.
I have had an ileostomy for 30 years now due to UC.

Thank you all, I had a good time with my friends and family in chicago for my b-day.  I had two beers and it caught up with me later (GAS!!!!!!)  But it was well worth it.
