I have been reading a lot of the posts in the Ostomy section of HealingWell. Really appreciate learning from others about their experiences and their options.
I would like to let everyone know about colostomy bag liners. I heard about them from a member of the Ostomyland forum. They will cut down your expenses by 90%. Instead of using the colostomy bag by itself, you put a liner inside the bag and then replace the liner as needed. In addition, the liners are FLUSHABLE. You just flush them down the toilet. I have ordered some samples and should get them today.
There are two manufacturers of liners I know of. The first is called Colomajic:
Their American reseller that handles all of their orders in the USA is:
The cost for 300 liners is under $60. This will allow you to use one bag a day, replace the liners as you need, flush the liners (imagine how much more sanitary this is both at home and when in public) and save a lot of money. The ring sizes of the liners are 1 3/4 and 2 1/4 inches. However, I am told by forum member at Ostyland that these two stanzard sizes will work with any colostomy bag.
The other place is called Bear Bags and is carried by a company called Flexware. They custom make the liners. I sent them one of my colostomy bags
Best wishes to everyone.
