Hi,
Let me tell you I am very confused as to what to do next.  I talked with my GI doc and she said that no one in my area has specific training in regards to severe constipation.  She didn't make herself very clear though.  She says i don't need a colonoscopy (had one 2 years ago) and she has exhuasted her treatments for the constipation.  She is the one who told me I may need to have my colon removed.  My insur. requires pre-authorization reveiw to do out of network/state. I don't know who to call to get an appt.

I got my reports/xrays from my ER visit and it says I had possible early/partial small bowel obstruction but my GI doc says I don't or I wouldn't feel better.

Could you please tell me what led you all to a colon removal, who did you see, where did you go?  I live in Mississippi.
Thanks so much, I'm sorry I don't make much sense....I have an ms brain.

If you are considering surgery you really need to see a colorectal surgeon. If you can travel, the best place for you to go is the Cleveland Clinic for an evaluation. If you don't want to have your surgery there they will recommend a surgeon closer to your home.
