Ok this is kinda gross so here's your warning!!

Does anyone get undigested food in their bag??  I seem to get alot( Everytime I empty in fact I have chunks of food).  I can actually tell what it is that I ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner.   Maybe it is what I eat, as I don't really limit myself too much.  But I'm wondering if it is common or is it a sign that my bowel is not working right??

I get it too. By the time food has reached the end of the small bowel where the stoma is, the food is fully digested so your body should have taken what it needs out.

25, from Hampshire, UK. Crohn's-colitis (diagnosed 2001) and ileostomy (2002).
Currently in remission following my operation.

I was alarmed to see what looked like blood mixed in with what was coming out of my bag, till I realized that I had had spagetti the night before. :>

Like someone said earlier just chew your food up a little more. I know that I can sometimes tell what I've eaten. I think we all kind get it.

No matter how much I chew corn or peas, somewhere in my digestive system they always get put back together and come out looking much the same way as they did before I ate them :D

I'm not a complete idiot - some parts are missing!

Ileostomy for 27 years since I was 10 years old, due to UC.

Hi Im not trying to bug you or anything but I was wondering why there isn't much activity on the ostomy board. I know people have lives but I thought this board was a really good sopport group for people that needed it. I know it's proberly helped a lot of people. Well anyway sorry for bothering you. yeah
