I am very excited and nervous. Tomorrow at 7:45 am EST is the time my surgery is supposed to begin for my ileostomy reversal. At this time I hope they get all of the abscess out. The 1st surgery the ileum perforated, 2nd surgery they drained 500cc, 1st abd drain placed 40cc drained, removed next day, 2nd abd drain placed end of march...still in drained 400cc 1st day 200 for a few thereafter, and now down to about 5-10cc/day. I Freaking hope they get it all this time! I know they are going to remove more of my colon since I have had constipation issues since 1984 (I was 5). We are hoping that this time the colon wakes up since before it didnt causing toxic megacolon, feces was the consisitancy of pudding...it was turning necrotic and perforating hence the ostomy. I have a good feeling though since the other day I did pass mucus etc through my rectum 2 times. I will be getting a central line again rather than many attempts at IV's I have the worlds crappiest veins...I would rather have 1 of my co-workers try to get it in sometimes since we are use to putting iv's in cats and dogs...a little harder than people depending on the breed. I actually helped the home care nurse attempt to get blood by fishing the needle in and out myself kinda hard with only 1 hand available though.
Oh well time for me to take my meds and try to get sleep.
Wish me well and keep me in your thoughts and prayers tonight
