I return to work in a week.  One of my concerns is of course the restroom.  We have a staff toilet which everyone uses, it's in a small room adjacent to the staff lounge.  I do not want to empty my bag and fill the entire floor with stench.  At home I light a match, spray some room spray, etc.  But I don't think matches would be a good idea in my workplace.  What have you found to discreetly remove odor in the air?  I guess my only option is to leave a spray in the bathroom whenever I work.

Just put a couple of capfuls of hydrogen peroxide in the bag each time you empty it, and there will be no smell!

3% hydrogen peroxide (no stronger - the 3% is found in the first aid section of your supermarket). A small squirt into your bag each time you empty and there is no odour!

Good luck with the return to work :)
I have had an ileostomy for 31 years now due to UC.

Shaz- Okay...you win! I'm giving the peroxide a try tomorrow. It's probably even cheaper than the mouthwash I've been using. I'll let you know what I think about the stuff.

Hi Peggy,

I haven't tried it yet. But I'll pick some up next time I'm at the store. However, after using m9 drops for many years, I switched to mouthwath(Listerine) a few months ago and I've been pretty happy with it. But, Shaz is sold on the peroxide so I'll give it a try. I'll keep you posted.

Well, I tried using hydrogen peroxide(3%) for the first time today. It takes care of the odor really well. It's much better than using mouthwash, and it seems to last longer.
