I could read what you were typing, so something is working. I just don't understand why you can't see what others are typing.

Slice, I cut and pasted the chat room troubleshooting info that might be helpful:

1. Recommended Browsers: The chat rooms and forums work best with newer browsers, so make sure you have Internet Explorer 6, Netscape 7, or Firefox 1.0 or above. Other browsers may or may not be supported. If you try the options below and continue to have problems, try switching browsers.

2. Disable Pop-up Blockers: To enter the chat room, go to http://www.healingwell.com/community/ and click on the "Chat" button in the top right corner of the forums. Do you get the popup window to login to the chat rooms when you click on the "Chat" button? If not, it could be your browser has a pop-up blocker turned on. Disable or turn off the popup blocker.

3. javascript must be enabled (default): It may also be that you have turned off javascript or another program may have disabled it in your browser. This is required for the chat rooms and forums. If you are using Internet Explorer, go to Tools menu > Internet Options > Security tab and click on the Default Level button.

4. cookies must be enabled (default): It may also be that you have disabled cookies in your browser, or another program may have disabled it for you. This is required for the chat rooms and forums. If you are using Internet Explorer, go to Tools menu > Internet Options > Privacy tab and click on the Default button.

Here's how to enable your cookies:

If you're using Internet Explorer 6.0 and above
1. Go to Tools on your browsers menu bar
2. Choose Internet Options
3. Click the Privacy tab
4. Change the slider to "Medium"
5. Click OK

If you're using Internet Explorer 5.5 or above
1. Go to Tools on your browsers menu bar
2. Choose Internet Options
3. Click the Security tab
4. Click on Medium Level
5. Click OK

If you're using Netscape Communicator 7.0 or above
1. Go to Edit on your browsers menu bar
2. Choose Preferences
3. In the Category window (on the left), expand the Privacy and Security triangle.
4. Select the "cookies" option and make sure that "Enable all cookies" is selected.
5. Click OK

If you're using Firefox 1.0 or above
1. Go to Tools on your browsers menu bar
2. Choose Options
3. Select the Privacy tab
4. Expand the cookies option on the right column
5. Make sure the option "Allow sites to set cookies" is checked.
5. Click OK

You may have to click at the bar on top. I think the bar is yellow but I am not sure. In order to see the room you have to download Active X. Click on the bar at the top of the screen to download Active X. Then you should be golden...

Summer,
That happened to us last night. We had been chatting for about an hour, when all of a sudden, we all got bumped off at the same time. We all logged back on and continued chatting, and it didn't happen again.

Slice's problem is different. He can't participate in the chatting, because he can't see what's going on. He'll type something and we can all read it, but he can't see what we're typing or even what he's typing. It's strange.

His problem might have to do with needing Active X or disabling pop up blockers, or enabling java script and cookies. I cut and pasted instructions in a previous post under this topic, but haven't heard if he tried any of those things.

My husband is a computer tech, so if those things don't work, I'll bring in the expert! :-) With a little teamwork, we'll get him up and chatting!
