I was wondering if anyone out there who has had a colostomy reversal is having or has had this problem.  It's been three weeks since my reversal.  I got an infection at the site where the stoma was.  My doctor put me on an antibiotic and I finished it on Monday.  My abdomen is really sensitive in that area.  It hurts for my shirt, pants or bedding to touch anywhere in that area.  I end up walking around holding my shirt out to keep it from hurting.  Is this normal....or should I still be worried about an infection?

Thanks for your help.

Linda,

I encourage you to post your question at www.jpouch.org. Most of the people there have had reversals. Also, you can browse through others lists of questions and comments. I found this site EXTREMELY helpful when I thought I was going to be able to get a reversal - but that was just wishful thinking on my part. Most of us at this site have permanent bags :o)

I hope you find the answers you seek. Good Luck to you!
