I went back to work last week after being gone for 4 months.  I am an RN in the ICU of our hospital.  It was scary to jump back into the stress and the fast-paced environment.  My body did well, it was so much better working with my bag rather than running to the bathroom every five seconds with pain and worry that I wouldn't make it.  I never realized how preoccupied I was with my own ill health, that my patients probably didn't get my full attention as they should.

Ironically, my first patient had a newly placed ileostomy and I was able to help him through it, having just gone through it myself.  Funny how things work out sometimes.  Life is funny isn't it?
Diagnosed Crohn's/Colitis 2003.
Subtotal Colectomy w/ Ileostomy May 16, 2007.
I'm off the meds!!

Be sure to drink lots of fluids... I found that I tend not to drink enough when I am really busy at work. I just forget about it. Good luck and don't push yourself!

Crohned,
That's amazing! I'm glad that you were able to help them with first-hand knowledge!
Hope you continue to feel good.
