hi my name is trish,
i had a bowel resection september of 2003. just wanting to talk to anybody who has had a resection in the past. how are you feeling now? I must admitt I am doing really great. No more cramping, no more running to the loo with constant diaharea, no more drugs. My hair has stopped falling out, I feel stronger and more in control not only of my bowels but also my life.
I have found though that i can't tolerate a lot of foods i may have been able to eat in the past, like lentils, lettuce, brownor multigrain breads, milk in large servings. Anything that may be high in fibre no way.
Just want to share info with anyone outthere who has been through this terrible surgery and seen the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hello Mums,
My son, Tyler who is 17 yrs old, just had a resection/ileostomy let-down surgery a little more than a week ago.Tyler had his ileostomy for 5 months, which he was very anxious to get fixed. It had started to take its toll him emotionally. He had his surgery on March 12 and he came home March 16. Everything went very well and I think Tyler did so well was because he went into the surgery very strong physically and mentally ready for this surgery. The Dr. said he was able to remove all the diseased area of the intestine that was affected with crohns which was about 10 to12 inches of his terminal ileum and prayerfully this will keep Tyler in remission for a very, very long time. Tyler has had NO pain and is doing very well. Everything is still very new to him and he hasnt noticed anything so far that has aggrivated his digestive tract. So hopefully there wont be any........But only time will tell.
