Had my colon removed 10/22 and small intestines w/ 3 inches of large intestines re-attached to rectum. I was able to eat and then go to the bathroom.

But the past few days it's stopped and I'm in a lot of pain.

I am wondering if I ate too much bread. I know we can eat white breads, but I wonder if I ate too much. I had been eating half a bagel a day and on Sunday I made french toast.

I broke down today and took some correctol. But it hasn't worked yet.

My bowels were slow to wake up in the hospital. I have MS so it might be effecting my bowels and/or they aren't recovered from the surgery.

Anyone else have this problem? I know if I had a bag this wouldn't be an issue.

I'm sorry things aren't moving, and you're in pain. sad If nothing happens by tomorrow, are you going to call your doctor? Please keep us posted on how you're doing.

Yikes Me! That sounds awful. Have you tried getting some prune juice in your diet. OK, I know it tastes gross but it helps! It really helps!
Correctol did nothing for me after I had my TC. I took 10 at one time and NOTHING. But, prune juice always gave me some relief. Becare taking meds. You really need to call your Dr tomorrow! Do not wait! And then post a message letting us know what happens.

I guess the correctol helped and things started moving this morning. There was a lot of gas. I'm feeling much better and haven't taken any pain meds today.

I'm really trying not to call my doctor b/c I'm so afraid he'll want me back in the hospital. I do not want to go back to the hospital.

Thanks for listening :)
