i wear the hollister twopice newimage type flanges/bags.  i'm wondering how often i can change the bag, while using the same flange.  does that seal between the two parts ever wear out?

i usually wear the flange for 5 days, the most bag changes i've ever done is 3 bags on the same flange and everything was good.  so how many bags can i use on the same flange??

Matt,

Hollister New Image is all I wear. I am probably not the best person to answer this question because I constantly change my bags. I wear a closed in mini pouch everyday when I work out and I usually leave that mini bag on all day because I have such little output. Then at night before bed I put on my regular size bag. In the morning, I rinse out the regular size bag and let it air dry. I use the same regular bag for 5-6 days and I discard my mini bag daily. Before I started this process, I usually would change out my bag every 4-5 days when using it on the same flange. I have never had a problem with the bags not sticking to the flange.

i just leave my bag on the whole time, unless it gets really icky around the tail, or i get a hole in the tail, i am having trouble with that for some reason. But i don't see any reason why you couldnt' change the bag every three minutes if you wanted. I pull mine loose and rehook it just to make sure proably 20 times a day, just the top part, and of course to let the air out also.

ok so it sounds like the bag can be taken off and reinstalled on the flange many times without the chance of the connection wearing out... i just like wearing a larger bag for some occasions, then afterwards putting a smaller one on again

Matt,

I constantly clip and unclip. I am on day 6 with my flange (thank you Peggy for your awesome secrets) and I have gone through 8 bags in those days (6 of the bags were closed in so I was that had to clipped and unclipped from the flange to empty). I love Hollister New Image just for this reason. I tried Coloplast Assura because their 2-pc system is very comfortable. However, all of my clipping and unclipping wore out the flange and after 2 days I could not get anything to clip with a good seal! I actually tried Coloplast Assura 3 times and each time I had the same problem.

So...clip, unclip, and be happy!
