I know some of you all are taking probiotics and prebiotics.  I'm wondering if they will help me...  I have never heard of them before beginning to read these forums.  Yeh, I know, what rock have I been under?!!!  That's another reason I visit this forum... someone knows something about everything here!!  Please help.
I have an ileostomy with very little small intestine left (several feet removed due to CD); no colon.
My CD has been in remission since 1984.
My stoma has been operating nicely... always been a bit overactive, but not much intestine left.  Would the capsules have enough time to help my system?
Because stuff travels quickly, would I have to increase my dose to get any response... or good out of them?
I've read/heard that they might help psoriasis - anyone have any experience with that?
A friend told me that capsule form is best rather than the chewable form as the stomach acids may kill the good bacteria before they reach the intestine  (?)
Do folks take them to prevent reoccurance of CD or UC?  I notice several people talk about them on the Crohn's Disease forum.
Thanks for your knowledge!!!
Diagnosed with CD in 1979, many resections and meds
