Anyone tried Amantadine? I have been taking Cinamet and getting some involuntary movement like head shaking so doc rx'd this. Warnings say can cause cloudy vision and confusion. A little wary...

I will reply to my own post since no one else had anything to add and I went ahead and tried the Amantadine. It seemed to ease my shakiness and feeling of head bobbing and no noticeable side effects. The only possible downside is my PD symptoms (mainly involuntary toe curling which makes it difficult to walk) seem a little worse so I wonder if the Amantadine could be inhibiting the effectiveness of the Sinimet. But it's hard to tell because it has been less then a week and I have bad days as far as the PD symptoms. I will report back in case anyone else might be interested.

I went on this med to replace mirapex about
a month ago due to compulsive behaviors. It has improved significantly the dyskinesis side effects of pd meds. It has reduced effectiveness of my slowness pd symptoms (compared to mirapex with simmanet) and my dystonia (with toe curving) happens during the daytime hours more vs just in the early am and late pm hours with prior med combo. i was given baclofen 10mg 1 tablet 3x/day as needed for muscle cramps. I will report later how it works.
BTW what Amantadine dose are you on?

I started with sinemet. It did not stop the tremors. Added Artane. Tremors stopped. Now I take Azilect instead of Sinemet. Still one 2 mg Artane a day to control tremors.
