After taking a Viagra 100 last night, I took a random blood sugar test the first thing this morning. Although the affects of Viagra is supposed to last only four hours, I know some of it was still in my system this morning because I was a bit enlarged. My blood sugar was pretty high for fasting all night (127 in one finger & 136 in another finger). It usually is around 100-105 in the mornings. I ate a small breakfast, took my daily tablet (Metformin) and three hours later, my blood sugar was down to 88.
Does anyone have any definite studies relative how Viagra, Levetra, or Cialis affects blood sugar levels? I have never read any warning about it and it most definitely is something people dealing with diabetes needs to know. Although I take medication for diabetes, mine has never been very high... except this morning.
