All of a sudden, 3 months post op my penis is mostly purple. What's up with that?
Age 62 Born Dec 30/45
Diagnosed with regular check up PSA 4.7
Biopsy Sept 2007  7 of 12 positive
Surgery- Da Vici Nov 13- London Ontario- Canada
no post op psa check yet as of Jan 25/07 scheduled for Mar 3

Hey Pux:  I'm no doctor, but I'm wondering if you are not getting enough oxygenated blood to your penis?  Are you taking Viagra or another ED drug to increase the blood circulation down there?
BTW --  you should be stimulating your penis manually (or whatever way you can get it stimulated) on a regular basis as well.
I'm sure it's nothing serious, but I would call my doc if I were you.

PSA: First ever was 9.8 in late Oct. ‘06, two weeks later, 10.1

DRE: Negative

Biopsy results 11/22/06.  Both lobes involved.  Six out of eight cores positive - from 100 percent to 90, to 60, to 50, two 20s and two zeros.

Gleason 3+3 = 6

Da Vinci Robotic RP surgery, City of Hope, Jan 12, 2007

Post surgery pathology – Organ confined, Gleason still 6, margins clear.  Volume of tumor much less than biopsy suggested.  12 percent overall.

First post-surgery PSA -- Undetectable, 2/20/07

Second post-surgery PSA -- Undetectable, 9/11/07

No I am not on any meds. The doc gave me 8 viagara tablets, to be divided in quarters and take one quarter per day  when I had my catheter removed 14 days post op but did not advise to get more and I don' see him again til Mar 3.

Pux: Give your doc a call anyway. If your hospital is like City of Hope, where I was operated on, they will have triage nurses who can answer your question or hook you up personally with your surgeon. It's the least they should do -- to talk you about the situation. There's no reason for you to wait until March 3rd.
And I'm surprised your surgeon didn't give you a prescription for Viagra, along with the few samples.
Have a list of any other questions or concerns you may have ready when you call.
