I got a call yesterday from another friend and co-worker from my old office who told me she has been told there is a good chance she has thyroid cancer.  She is scheduled for surgery to remove it a week from this Tuesday.  This young lady is about thirty years old and has two small little girls.  Her youngest is about 7 months old, about the age of my grandson.  We lost another friend from my old office last year from breast cancer and can't believe this is happening again to one of my friends.  Please pray for her and her family.

Hi Mika,

I'm so sorry for your friend.  I know it is scary, but as you know, there is always hope.

I can tell you from personal experience in my own family that thyroid cancer is often very treatable with excellent results.  Of course, as with prostate cancer, this depends on the type of cancer and the treatment chosen.

I know my wife would be happy to have an e-mail exchange with your friend to help provide some information and support.  You may contact me with the e-mail in my profile if you wish.

All the best,

Barry
