This Doctor has been a tremendous value to my current condition, as has others like TC and the others who BUMPED my post just to keep it where I would most likely get a response. He has done nothing but offered me insight, again as others have. I cannot get to a doctor like a lot of patients, who pick up the phone and simply make an appointment within a week or so. I am a VA patient at a facilty that is grossly over burdened(They are responsible for over 160,000 VETs at one facility). It takes months sometimes to get to a physician therefore, I am at the mercy of my own research, which at times can be confusing at best. He sent me some info, as did TC and I now feel I can speak intelligently and more important I am sure I know what questions I want to ask when I do get to a Doctor. I hope we do not lose a what I see as a great asset.

Just my two cents.

I also agree that you have done a great disservice to members who try to get any information they can when facing this type of situation.   AUS is not a well known item and it is very difficult to find out what kind of questions should be asked of your doctor.  In my particular case i have had two of them put in and it looks like the second one must come out.  You might well know i fired my doctor.  Oh how i wished i had known more about this.  When we had an opportunty to learn more you shut it out   Shame on you.  I suppose in the future if you say where you had you procedure done or the doctos name you will also delete those  NUTS

I'm sorry for the extremely difficult time you've had. But this site has never been for Doctors to dispense information to those who post here. We can and do mention hospitals, surgeons, radiologists, oncologists, etc. But they don't post here. We freely give each other information and share what has or hasn't worked. It works best this way, really.
I wish you the best as I know everyone here does. Please continue to post - we need each other.

Moderators and Administration,

It was a good day when I found this forum... I discovered others... many others were in the same situation I was in.  I gained lots of information and encouragement.  I do wish to thank all of you who gave insight and encouragement in my battle. I also thank Healing Well for providing the forum.  Most get over the incontinence in 5-8 months.  Some sooner.  Much sooner.  Only a small percentage of us need further treatment for continence months and years later. New devices, such as the Male Sling and the Artificial Urinal Sphincter is available, but not many know much about it... except what doctors whom we pay choose to tell us.  But you guys were great in helping me.  Thank you.

But I do not understand why one of my posts regarding the urologist (I won't even attempt to use his name, for fear of breaking the new rule) was taken from one of the threads that you deleted and placed on this thread, along with Rock50's post.  I deleted my mis-placed post because this is not where I posted it and this is not where I wanted it.  It was nobody's place to take my post out of the context it was posted.  But somebody did exactly that.  It should have been deleted with the rest of the thread.  Instead, it was moved out of context without at least giving me an explanation.

I take that actin as a chastisement for writing positive things about the doctor and expressing a desire for him to stay with us.  I am offended that was done without offering any kind explanation.  There was no word of explanation.  None.  I guess I know why, but still, it's a guess.  I guess it was because I had good things to say about this man who could have served as a great resource to those of us who are trying to stop leaking.  I guess in doing that I broke new rule # 19, even before I saw the new rule # 19.  I guess.  I guess.  But I don't know for sure.

Again, thanks to everyone who has helped me over the past 13 months.

What a great loss to this forum.  Finally we were getting some valuable information on a topic that there has been very little information on.  I am getting an AUS installed next month, and while not going into it blind, I need to know more about what to expect. I could have gotten this from this doctor, but not now.  Judging from the dialogue in this forum it's easy to tell we are mature, intelligent men, and not prone to just blindly accepting information from an on-line doctor, or from anyone else for that matter.  But it was refreshing to learn things from someone who's been there and done that. It is then up to us to decide if we want to use what he says or not. This is lousy censorship for sure.

I think it is fine to ask questions about any rule or guideline.  As we do this, we should maintain respect for moderators who freely give their time and especially for our Admin, Mr. Waite.

Mr. Waite crafted and maintains this site and thus sets the guidelines and rules for keeping spirit of this forum as he sees fit.  I know he ponders every rule carefully.  This site is a labor of love and, as you can see, it is free of charge for anyone to use.  Those of us who have donated to keep the site servers and maintenance going, do so with the understanding that we implicitly agree to abide by the forum rules and guidelines.

There are other sites where a person may obtain answers from medical professionals without cost.  If someone would like a link to one of those sites, you're free to send an e-mail to me using the icon at the left and I will respond.

Blessings to everyone in their journey.

Kind regards,

Barry (Idaho)

New rule duly noted.

I didn’t see any of the posts…But can’t help think that giving medical advice on an open to the Public forum is a bad idea. Can only imagine the possible legal ramifications that could face.

“A doctor on said to do it. How was I to know it didn’t completely apply to me.”
