Help me... I had the seed treatment 10 years ago this past January. Over the last several 6 month visits my PSA has gone from .3 to .5 to .7 to 1 Should I be scared? gebe

Hi Gebe . . . I wouldn't suggest "scared", but would certainly check this out with the doctor and follow his recommendations. The rising numbers obviously indicate the presence of something that needs follow up.

Bob (62) - Laproscopic Prostate Removal Sept 27, 2006 at age 60.
2 of 12 malignant biopsy samples - gleason 3 + 3 = 6.
 
Pathology - cancer completely contained, even a second more aggressive, previously undetected cancer)
PSA UNDETECTABLE Nov 2006, Feb, May, Oct2007.  ONE YEAR!!!! WHOOO HOOOO! 

Bob also has two secondary conditions -- Polycythemia (elevated red & white cells & platelets) and . . Myelofibrosis) -- If anyone has experience with or information on these, please email us.

Hey gebe,
Above all and as hard as it is, do not panic.....you have come to a great place for information.......the members here run the full gamut of PC and its treatments. Read all the information you can here so you will be well armed and informed when you see your Doc as lawlink suggests.
1/05 PSA----2.9 3/06-----3.2 3/07-------4.1 5/07------3.9 All negative DREs
Aged 59 when diagnosed
Biopsy 6/07----4 of 10 cores positive for Adenocarcima-------bummer!
Core 1 <5%, core 2----50%, core 3----60%, core 4----50%
Gleason 4+3=7 (80% grade 4)
Biopsy pathologist's comment......neither extracapsular nor perineural invasion is identified
CT scan and Bone scan show no evidence of metastases
Da Vinci RP 8/07
Post-op pathology:
Positive for perineural invasion and 1 small focal extension
Negative at surgical margins, negative node and negative vesicle involvement
Some 4+4=8 identified ........upgraded to Gleason 8
PSA Oct 07 <0.1 undetectable
PSA Jan 08 <0.1 undetectable

There are several here that had the seed treatment and I think they are more informed to answer your questions about the seed treatment.

Read as much as you can and listen to your trusted doctor but keep in mind that you are still in control. Be aggressive if you need to be.
12/06/07 DaVinci and open prostate surgery after difficulties in breathing stopped the davinci.
Walked a lot
90% control the day the catherter removed.
pad only for a sneeze before the week was out
No pads most of the second week.
