Hello Ken,

I have been on Triple Hormone Blockade Therapy for PC for the last 9-months, under the guidance of Dr Steven Tucker who wrote the abstracts on THB with Dr. Bob Liebowitz.
My PSA has reduced from 19.2 to 0.057.
Night time urination has reduced from about 3 times a night to one time or less.
I have 3-monthly Zoladex shots, plus 150 mg/day Casodex and 0.5 mg/day Avodart (Dr. Liebowitz prefers Proscar).
Actually, I use generic Calutide (= Casodex) and Dutas (= Avodart) which are much cheaper.
Negative effects are (a) I have a muzzy head from the Casodex (b) for the first 3-months felt generally unwell (c) no erections, as to be expected (d) somewhat enlarged breasts.
My Gleason score was 3+3 = 6. DRE negative. Clinical stage T1c. Considered clinically localized PC.

Thank you for your information, Steve, and welcome to HealingWell.

Hi Steve,

Welcome again.  You are already an experienced patient so I don't need to be lending any advice at this time.  Instead, I will tell you that many here are on ADT3 and can lend you their experiences.  I am on Lupron and Casodex and asked why not add Proscar or Avodart, but my oncologist is half and hald on it.  My research was throu the Myers approach, but my USTOO meetings have had Dr. Leibowitz as a speaker.  I am doing well and watching my testosterone and dihydrotestosterone levels.  So far no relapse.  Hope to stay that way.  I am on the traditional 2 year ADT and look forward to not being on it, but I still have a year to do.  Perhaps you can enlighten us on why the heavy 150mg dose of Casodex.  I am on 50mg and no "muzzyness".  While your PSA was high, you Gleason was not in the high risk group.  I kind of curious about any other treatments you may have had for treating local disease.  ADT3 alone will not cure this.  Radiation and/or may.  And without the side effects that come with ADT3.
