Yesterday my Uncle went to our local hospital (has reputable cancer wing) and University of Pa in Philadelphia.
Original therapy suggested from Urologist was 10 days casadex and then start Eligard shot. He said no way you could radiate pelvis.
The 2nd and 3rd opinion both agreed that he should be treated aggresively with 8 weeks of radiation and continued hormones. Dr. from Penn is a Fox Chase Cancer Center doctor.
They are going to mark him for radiation on Tuesday. He is also getting another CAT scan and an MRI.
We got more details on his biopsy
7 not 8 cores out of 12
(2) 3+3 =6
Mostly confined to 1/2 of Prostate. Penn doctor said if more cores were taken may find a 9.
Both said we would not find a doctor in the Deleware Valley to remove his prostate.
SO GLAD WE GOT MORE OPINIONS!
