My doctor has prescribed Levitra (20mg) every other night and only on those nights I would wake up around 1:00 AM with a headace. I have to take a couple of tylenol to get rid of it. I've noticed this since I've started taking the Levitra but wasn't sure if this is the reason but now I'm pretty much certain. Have anyone else experience this?
Thanks for any information.
Kris

The Levitra website says the most common side effects are headache, flushing and stuffy or running nose. I also had a little indigestion when I first started taking it. Now I settled on Viagra and have virtually no side effects at the 50mg/day dosage. You might want to try Viagra or Cialis and see if your headaches subside.

Kris,

I was initially taking Viagra 50mg and found that my head would hurt and get a stuffy head.  Doc switched me to Levitra and I'm now taking generic Vardenifil and the only side effect I get is sinus stuffiness.

I guess everyone is effected differently.  Trial & error will hopefully will get you the desired results.

Hi Kris,

Yes, CJ gets a headache occassionally now - meal timing seems to be an issue and worse when he has had it on an empty stomach. We did not start until 7 weeks post op - First, with Cialis (got headaches) and then changed to Levitra 20mg. CJ had a few aches and pains all around in those first weeks including headache sometimes. We suggest you perhaps trial the other ED medications as seems to be different for each (as others have said), or another idea .. Have you considered taking half the dose (with medical consultation of course) and see if that helps or hinders, before you try a change of meds? CJ has a large frame (however loosing lots of weight at the moment on a health kick!); therefore he handles the 20mg with ease. However we know another person with a lighter built frame who only takes half of the dose due to that. Also we would only take Levitra 20mg x 2-3 week now, so each second day might give you a headache I reckon. However that's just an opinion and I am sure your doc has a plan, so perhaps time to consult on this with him or his team, when you can? It is worth sorting out, as without such side effects I am sure you will be able to kick back, and enjoy the cricket better in your recovery!

cheers, Lana

Hi Kris,

I should add perhaps that 20mg is the maximum dose for Levitra, and as such, now I am trying to wean CJ down to 10mg. Going without is not an option at this particular stage (1 year post op), but starting to think about halving it ourselves. However (don't quote me here!! ), we do not tend to listen to doctors anyway, and I should add that the original prescription that we have WAS to take initially 10mg - not 20mg. We were the ones who increased it to 20mg, THEN went to a different doctor, who was able to work with us on the dose and increased it. Therefore you have the advantage of a doctor who has started you on the maximum (20mg) initially, so would probably be more prepared to work with you on this issue?

Just thought I should add that Kris, to clarify the above, as a starting dose of 20mg does seem a lot without trialing a lower dose first? - But as I said, your Doctor must have a plan, so worth checking out these things or doing some research on all the ED meds as we did, and then speak to the doc. I can't remember the best info sites however - but lots available on these meds here and there online with a bit of searching! Good luck in finding the best for you. I just emailed you too. cheers, Lana & CJ

Hi Grover,
i am in that same time frame as you are when i had my open RP , i am just about starting to get back to "erection action " with the help of 100mg Viagra .. and finally usable for sex ...however it takes a long time to heal those nerves , and i hope from here on it is only up hill improvements.
I do also meds and pump therapy almost daily.
would like to hear of your experiences with ED and how you handling that battle ..

Good Luck !!! and keep on writing ..

Removal of catheter 10 days later , incontinence next to nothing, no pads used from the get go.
