Just curious, to show that this beast has no preference as to who it attacks, what are the professions/former professions of the brotherhood.

I've been a product photographer for 29 years and I'm still going strong.

My gleason score from prostate was 4+5=9 and from the lymph nodes was 4+4=8
I had 44 IMRT's

January 08 PSA 5.2 round of antibiotics went to 4.3
February 08 another round of antibiotics went to 4.2
March 17,08 had biopsy, 2 days later told cancer was on
one entire side of prostate.
Gleason 3+3
Doctor thinks its best to get the whole prostate with Perineal  Prostatectomy.
Surgery scheduled for this Thursday April 10th. Only took 1 1/2 hours. In recovery 1 hour.  Both nerves were spared.
Home 4-11 - incision looks completly healed on the outside by 4-25
Cath out 4-22 dripping some
5-3 Still incontinence with sneezing or coughing but not too bad
Cialis 5 mg at night to start.Stopped Cialis after taking for 3 days as it caused rawness with bm. Will start back in a week or so to see how it goes

I'm a Mechanical Engineer designing Blood Analyzer for a Major Pharmaceutical company for over 15 years using Mechanical CAD Software. Have over 15 years of Machine Shop experience working with Con Edison of NY Inc. (Utility Company in NYC) prior to moving to DFW

Pathology report: Gleason 6 (3+3), involving left lobe
DRE=15gm with indurated left base and mid prostate
Cores positive: left base medial, left base lateral, left mid medial and left mid lateral (4 of 12)
Clinical stage t2b.
Prostate Carcinorna 185
DaVinci Surgery on 4/21/2008 in Austin by Dr Randy Fagin.
Pathologist report upgraded to a Gleason 7 (3+4)
Clinical stage upgraded also to a T3a
Margins Clear

My father is a Painting Contractor, also a Vietnam Vet.

His father, who also had Prostate Cancer, was an army officer....I'm not sure what he did after that.

psa 4.7  (psa rose 1 point per year for 3 years, urologist said still under 4 and no concern.  If I can find out about PSA velocity, why didn't he know!)
Told not to have surgery at Dana Farber as cancer had already penetrated prostate, in seminal vesicles, would have positive margins. Would only treat with radiation and HT

Gleason score 9, PSA 14; Biopsy result - 9 of 12 sticks showed cancer
Post-op pathology stated that cancer was confined to the prostate
Unrelated surgery January 2008 delayed incontinence recovery, which is now showing good signs of improvement (fraction of a pad a day as of late April 2008)
100 MG Viagra 3 times a week beginning December 2007
Osbon Erec-Aid Esteem manual pump for therapy beginning mid-February 2008
30 MG papaverine/1 MG phentolamine bimix injections beginning late April 2008
Five week post-op PSA 0.2, five month post-op PSA 0.1, next test August 2008

Biopsy 2nd July 07 5 out of 12 positive
Gleason 3+4=7  right side tumour adenocarcinoma stage T2a
RP on 30th July,
Post op Pathology, tumour stage T3a 4+3=7, microcsopic evidence of capsular penetration, seminal vessels, bladder neck, free of tumour, lymph nodes clear, no evidence of metastatic malignancy, tumour does not extend to the apical margins.
 
Post op PSA 0.5 26th Sept.
PSA 23rd Oct.0.5 seeing Radiation Onocologist 31st Oct.
Started radiation treatment on 5th Dec, to continue until 24 Jan. 08.
Finished treatment, next PSA on 30th April.
PSA 30th April 0.4

Hi everyone.  I have been in law enforcement for 34 years, 4 months and 12 days.  But who is counting.  By the way, made it to age 56 today.  Retired one time but have it in the blood and can't quit.

    PSA 5.7, Biopsy 3 of 12 positive (up to 75%) all on left side of prostate, Gleason 7
    RRP on Oct. 17, 2006 - Nerves on right side saved. All Lab's clear. 
    Cathiter in for 28 days due to complications in healing. Removed Nov. 9, 2006
    First Post op PSA on Dec. 11, 2006  Undetectable 0.00.
    ED workable and usable with Viagra.
    Feb. 20th, 2007 - Feb. 4th, 2008  Cystoscope, Two Collagen injections,Second Opinion Consultation for Incontinance at OU Medical Center, Bio-Feedback training, Chiropractic, Accupuncture  to try to resolve ongoing incontinance (4-6 pads a day)  All PSA's 0.00.
    Feb. 4th, 2008 - Appointment with Original Dr. to discuss options and recomendation for surgical fix for incontinance.
    Feb. 22nd, 2008 - Surgery to install the AMS AdVance Male Sling.
    March 27th, 2008 - Sling not working, Little or no improvement.
    April 18, 2008 - Collagen injection.  Back to using 4-6 full pads a day within a week.
    May 15, 2008 - Another collagen injection to try to Band-Aid the leaking for our June cruise.  Will start making conusultation appiontments for AUS after we return.

I was a beer and wine sales manager for 25 years then moved to the slower pace coast and then drove semi truck for a oyster company. Now retired 11 months.

12-10-05 Diagnosed PSA 1.7 T2b Nodule felt.
1-30-06 Surgery, nodes & margins clear
Post op Gleason 8  T2c 4+3 PSA .04
12-07 PSA jump .14 changed doctors
Nodule found biposy negative
PSA .16
PSA .17
4-3-08 PSA .32 ouch
4-15-08 Returned to orgininal doctor about psa jump. Nodule size increased.
5-6-08 PSA drawn, awaiting results

Currently before PCa worked Part time on call with Army Contractor at Fort Polk, La doing role playing.  Portraying Arabic Civilian on the battle field.  training Soldiers and Marines for duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Very rewarding job.  Our motto is "Bring them home Alive" - Debbie did this also and we will most likely go  back to doing this part time around our travels.

PSA: First ever was 9.8 in late Oct. ‘06, two weeks later, 10.1

DRE: Negative

Biopsy results 11/22/06.  Both lobes involved.  Six out of eight cores positive - from 100 percent to 90, to 60, to 50, two 20s and two zeros.

Gleason 3+3 = 6

Da Vinci Robotic RP surgery, City of Hope, Jan 12, 2007

Post surgery pathology – Organ confined, Gleason still 6, margins clear.  Volume of tumor much less than biopsy suggested.  12 percent overall.

First post-surgery PSA -- Undetectable, 2/20/07

Second post-surgery PSA -- Undetectable, 9/11/07

Third post-surgery PSA -- Undetactable, 2/15/08

Surgery for bilateral inguinal hernia repair, 4/4/08

Rick spent 4 years in the USAF as a Air Traffic Controler then 20 Years in the San Francisco area as CEO for many of the large investment companies. He moved back to New Mexico in 1975 and we met in 1984 and started a business advisory firm which led us to doing BINGO accounting and eventually opening our own bingo hall. We also have a Day Care Center.

RRP 12/7/06. Nerves and nodes okay.
Catheter out on 12/13/06.  Dry on 12/14/06.
Pathological stage: T2C N0 MX. Gleason 3+4.
50 mg Viagra + 1000 mg L-Arginine + .03 cc Trimix = Excellent Results
PSAs from  1/3/07 - 1/17/08 0.00. 
Next PSA test on 7/17/08
