Today seems to be my posting day! I have a question about how your doctors view your spincter muscle. I asked the doctor that did the cysto on my hubby how the spincter looked. He said he couldn't see that and in order to see the spincter he would need to open him up. Now, many of you have posted about your doc being able to see the sphncter, so I do not understand this. this is a very well known doc and I have to believe him, but I am needless to say, confused. Can any one out there shed light on this for me. Also, I keep saying my husband had a cysto and I think that is what it was called. He had the camera scope to see inside his bladder. Thanks.

I am not much help here, but I know that several here (kw and others) have had procedures done to try to add support to their sphincter muscles, but those procedures would probably be among those the urologist referred to when he talked of opening him up.

Hopefully others will have more info to share.

Hey Nancy, Not sure what your Doctor meant. I have had one regular Cystoscope and 4 colligen injections. With each a camera probe is inserted. The Cystoscope has a articulating tip on it that once inside the bladder it can be turned to view all areas. The colligen injections are done using a rigid scope. But still, each time the doctor looked at the interior of the sphincter muscle. He even had to tighten up to see how it worked. I can only guess that your Doctor was talking about the external structure of the sphincter.
