I had my prostate removed (robotic) on April 28th, had the catheter removed a week ago last Wednesday and just noticed a little blood in my urine. Is this normal?

totally normal, don't panic. for up to 6-8 weeks you can see blood tinged urine and chunks of blood clots. The clots are scabs peeling off as healing takes place. As the scabs peel off, there is often some minor bleeding. The only time to head for the ER is if one of these blood clots blocks your urine flow. And the only thing they do then is flush your bladder.

I overdid at week three and had huge amounts of blood - bright red- in my urine for several days. The doc said I just ruptured a capillary and to take it easy. It went away on day three. It's far more scary for us and not often a big deal to the doc.

Take it easy and drink lots of water.

Same advice as Paul. It is normal. I also overdid like Paul, after catheter out and bright red blood in urine. Could not get old of the doc,but the nurse said take it easy don't run up stairs etc. Drink plenty. If blood persists too long call the doc.You will be fine.

Thanks for the replies. I knew that someone would respond on the forum before my Dr called me back.
