Found a helpful and interesting website on prostate cancer nutrition. It has information on diet and supplements and was written by physcians and a nutrtionist at Princess Margaret Hospital in Canada. I thought I would share the address as I fould it helpful. I am still not sure about the soy connection, as I have heard different opinions on soy and cancer. The website is http://www.prostatecentre.ca/  On the right hand side of the page you will see what looks like a piece of orange salmon(it is!) and the title " Eating Right for Life-Prostate Cancer Nutrition & You". It is a downloadable cookbook, not that many pages, with lots of good nutrition and supplement information.

Hi anxiouswife,

Good to meet you!

I did a lot of studies on health before and after surgery.  It can be VERY confusing.

Seems that, in general, a heart-healthy diet is a good choice.

After all the reading I've done, I stay away from soy and flax as in come cases they were contraindicated.  I also avoid a lot of sugar, fat, and don't eat much red meat.  I also use non-fat milk on cereal.  tongue

I guess my only bit of fanaticism is I drink 8oz of 100% Pomegranate juice on a regular basis.  I try to do it once a day, but don't always make it.   Many studies I've read claim that the antioxidants or other components of Pomegranate juice help slow the growth of or destroy prostate cancer cells in lab experiments.  In fact, the National Cancer Institute is continuing clinical trials on the topic (LINK).

I hope this helps.  I wish you and hubby the very best!

Kind regards,
