For the past couple of weeks I have been undergoing several tests and today I got the results.  I have lung cancer.  Next week we start the staging phase followed by a prognosis and a treatment plan.

After scanning several lung cancer formus, nothing comes close to what we have here on HW.  I hope you will let me hang out here.  I will NOT post any lung cancer updates here.  Instead, I will put updates on my blog at "Jim's Space".  The link is listed below in my signature.

You are all my family.  Where would we be without each other...

Jim

Jim-
You amaze me with your strength! You always have! I just visited your "Jim's Space" page. I don't know how I have missed that link all this time, but what a treasure. Your family is beautiful and you and ML are about as cute as can be.
My heart aches for you and your family. Please keep us posted and let me know if there is anything we can do. I will be praying hard for your next tests and will stay hopeful that you will recover well from whatever treatment plan is in your future. Prostate cancer may have brought us all together, but don't think lung cancer is going to separate you from your family here at HW. God bless!

I'm so sorry to hear that, Jim. It never ends, does it

We're both in similar boats. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I agree with Doting, this may be a forum for prostate cancer, but it is also a forum for friends and you good man are a dear friend to all of us. Please try as hard as you can to stay positive. I am a firm believer that good mental and spiritual health aides the body in fending off the enemy.

peace to you

Jim,

You are in our prayers. "God gives us strength through weakness" When we are at our weakest Gods grace fills us with His strength. May His strength fill you and lift all of your burdens. We are all here together as friends and family.

Love you, man.

Dear Jim,

I am so sorry to hear this, I know you must feel devastated I am sorry and please know you will be in my prayers. Have the doctors said if it is spread from the prostate cancer or if its a primary cancer? My mom had lung cancer 2 years ago and the one suggestion I have for you is if you opt for radiation make sure you ask how much tissue that does not have cancer will be affected by the radiation. My mom did okay with chemo for quite a while but when they did radiation on her they went to far. I am not trying to scare you but it is important that they only radiate the cancer. Just like with prostate cancer lung cancer comes in lots of different grades I am sure you have already read up on this. Please know if I can help you in any way I am just an e-mail away and I will gladly share with you any information I learned going thru this with my mom.

God Bless You and your Family

Warmest wishes

Diana

Biker, I'm sorry also to hear your news. Your prostate recovery has gone so well. Seems like it might be another primary -- let's hope so anyway.

I'm a survivor from colon cancer and PCa, both primaries -- so it can be done. Hang in there buddy.

Grace & peace.
