At the recent meeting of the American society of clinical oncology in Chicago scientists from Austria have presented their findings that Zometa has been very successful in trials by improving chances of survival with women with breast cancer. Zometa which is a drug that treats bone disease has been used on women with advanced breast cancer after surgery, the drug works by starving cancer cells that spread to the bone after surgery. The drug deprives the cancer cells of nutrients from the boneand effectively switches them off. Austrian doctors believe that the drug can also help men with high risk prostate cancer that may spread to the bones.
Zometa is given in six monthly 15 minute infusions.

Good Post,
We have several here on Zometa. I am on Fosamax which is also useful in preventing osteoperosis. Some guys are instructed to be on Zometa instead when they are on hormone therapy. Not sure exactly where the decisions differ. But for me Lots of calcium, Vitamin D and Fosamax is doing the job.
